3 THINGS THAT I GAINED FROM AN USRAH SHARING

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

by AliahMazli

I have always loved to go to Usrah even not as frequent as I used to. I really love the positive vibes that all of the sisters brought to the ceremony. My spiritual side will eventually got lifted up every time I came back from an Usrah Session. The reason being because they reminded me to my faith--Islam.

The sisters reminded me about Allah and all the good things that eventually I almost forgot. This is exactly what I need the most--being in a Jamaah. These brothers and sisters will always give fruitful reminders about Islam, about our faith and pulling myself back to center when I seem so lost about this world.

There were times where I almost drowned in my own negativity and these sisters will pull me out and gave a "CPR" rescue so that I can get back on track, stand on my feet and find my way back to The Almighty.

During the Usrah session, one of the sisters asked us a question:

"Why the sahabahs or Rasulullah S.A.W's companions keep on holding on strong to Islam wholeheartedly back then?"

I did have the answers but I asked myself, do I? It's like a slap on my face where I felt ashamed of myself that night.

These are among the reasons why the sahabahs really hold on strong to Islam despite all the backlashes, humility, tortures that they received.

  • They have strong belief and trust to Allah S.W.T. They know all along that Allah will never leave them and with that, they leave all to Allah as HE will take care of the rest. The sahabahs felt rest assured with Allah as their sole reason to live.

Thinking back about this, I felt so distant. I always/sometimes doubt what will happen either Allah will help me or not. Astaghfirullah. This clearly shows that I have not fully trust Allah's plan. I always doubt on things. It also shows how much I really know my Lord. Subhanallah. I want to be as devoted as the sahabahs. I want to love Allah as much as the sahabahs. I want to know more about Allah as much as the sahabahs. I do.

  • They have the purest love towards Rasulullah S.A.W. They want to meet Rasulullah S.A.W. again in Jannah and they withstand by all means to keep Islam as sacred as possible and protect it with their lives. Because they know, their lover which is Rasulullah is waiting for them.

I ponder to myself this note and asked myself, how much do you love Rasulullah S.A.W, Aliah Athirah? You can ask yourself this too.

  • They know their responsibility towards Islam. Their job in this world is to spread the beauty of Islam. To let people know about Allah, to know who is the Creator of this world and who is our true Master. No matter what happened, they stood by Islam by hook or by crook.

Me? What have I done so far in this world? What have I done for Islam? Every time the sister pin-pointed the reasons of the question, I asked myself a question and pondered hard on all the points. Many questions lingered in my mind and I could not really find the answers to that.

  • They hold on strongly to Al-Quran as they really learned, understood and practiced all the teachings in the Quran. Quran is the last Mushaf that was blessed to our beloved Prophet Rasulullah S.A.W and to all of us. Hence, they hold on dearly to the Quran and always refer to it for any questions at any time.

I still feel that I am far from making it my best friend as there were times I skipped my Quran readings. The consistency is not there and I noticed that is my weakness--consistency. I can see that I need to overhaul myself to get myself back to the deen, to my Creator.

  • Allah's promises and happy stories of the Paradise that made them overjoyed with smile and strengthen their faith to protect it by all means.

Knowing the last point really left me speechless. I knew by then that I have not been reading the Quran a lot, tadabbur the Quran or read any books that really tells about all the beautiful things about the Paradise. If I know about all the good things, the happy things that I can devour in the Paradise, I will surely do my best to live in this world, isnt it?

The final destination of all be it either the Paradise or the Hell. You and I must be wanting to be in  the Paradise right? I would not even dare to read the word or hear it, not even wanting to take a step inside it, Nauzubillah!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apart from the question asked, there were 3 main things that I remembered the most during the Usrah Session. We were talking about Yaumul Qiamah as well that night.

Your heart must be cleansed, purified every single day.
This also includes to forgive everyone every time before we go to sleep. To leave all to Allah be it good or bad even when the heartaches are too painful to bear--forgive everyone. It is easier said than done but that's what we have to do. I found this hard to practice but as I slowly trying to make it as a routine, I somehow felt a small burden being lifted up from my shoulders and the most importantly--my heart.

You have to always think good about anything that happened in your life.
It may be good and it may be bad (to you), but to Allah, it is a sign that HE loves you more than you ever think of.

Say a lot of Istighfar and Selawat to Rasulullah S.A.W.
When you realize that your mouth is not saying anything and rather than letting it closes like that, say istighfar or selawat till you mouth feels dry. Take a sip of water and continue to do it. I've always wanted to die while saying these dhikir you know. How beautiful it will be. Thinking back on this, I have wasted so many of my years not doing any dhikir and all. When I slowly try doing this one, I noticed that I somehow refusing myself to talk on nonsense things that wont give me benefits. Of course, this comes with a lot of practice.

I hope that you and I can ponder and take a moment to muhasabah on ourselves, reflect back on our lives and I do hope we can find a way to make our lives more meaningful each day with the intention of solely living out lives because of Allah Taala.

Please make duaa for me too.

InshaaAllah, see you on my next post!

AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA - DOESN'T HURT RIGHT?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

by AliahMazli
Being away for a while doesn't hurt right?

What do you usually do when you wake up early in the morning? Nothing? Tell me no lies darlings. Almost like a habit that you do when you wake up rather than going straight to the bathroom getting ready for Fajr prayer, there is something that automatically leads you to it.

Your cellphone.

Checking messages, checking the social media updates, checking other things that somehow became a routine that is unbreakable. Why? Because we have set our mind to it. To do it and not to break it into a better habit. I have read about this somewhere that rather you unlock your cellphone early in the morning, go straight away to the bathroom and get ready for the Fajr prayer.

Why? To meet our Creator. The One who created you and me. The One who plans your day, either it will be a good or bad ones (of course depending on your effort and prayers too in hoping to have a bad or good day). Doesn't it feel refreshed to meet Allah above all than checking a gadget which is totally created by humans which we know are full with flaws?

That really opened my eyes on how I lead my life. I have been depending on the cellphone because of social media things all my life just because I want to be the first to know about something without knowing that I have been putting Allah behind it all. What a shameless act I have done all this while.

Don't you feel shy to HIM? Now to think about it, I do feel shy. Like A LOT till I feel like wanting to hide myself somewhere just because I'm so shy towards Allah.

But did HE ruin your day just because we didn't make HIM our first priority? No. Instead, HIM being the Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful), will love us even more and gives us so much rezq and good things. MashaaAllah. I am feeling shy with HIM even more while typing this.

How ignorant I am to HIM all this while.

Being away for a while from this social media definitely won't hurt which it may directly or indirectly affect our hearts' condition may it be for jealousy, greed, unhappy for others, wanting to look good only in the eyes of the human, showing everything that we have in the name of sharing doesn't make you a better person. All this will not be a problem if we have a proper intention on creating the social media platforms in the first place. On other meaning, to have us to purify our intention/niyyah every single day and in every single thing that we do.

Try and have your days off from the social media world and find the goodness in your everyday life. Get engaged with people in real life more rather than the online world where you can't even feel the warmth of the person.

Get yourself away from:
*negativity
*uncertainty (no-factual news, no proof-based stories)

In other words, silent is better. If you have no other good things to show or say, better to keep silence as it will lead to more negativity than positivity.

There're several ayahs in the Quran in surah Al-Mu'minum (23:1, 23:2, 23:3) that say about turn away from ill speech:

English Translation:

The believers have indeed attained true success (1) Those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves (2) Who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous (3)

I'm reminding myself first and foremost and please make duaa for me!

InshaaAllah I'll see you in my next post!

WONDER

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

by AliahMazli
27th February 2015 (Friday)

A sharing from Ayah dearest.

I shared something with Ayah. Not soon after, my phone rang giving a sign that a message is received. I opened it and started to wonder and without me knowing-- I teared up.

"In this world, just put on your smile when you come to notice of any shortcomings of yourselves and your spouses. We are indeed a reflection of a bountifully imperfect creature. Making lots and lots of mistakes. Unto Allah we seek forgiveness and to HIM we fully surrender".

Have you ever wondered if this is the life that you want to live in?

Do you think you are growing and living a life that you dreamed of since you were 10 years old? Having those dreams and thoughts of what kind of path you want to go and what kind of person you want to be?

To hope that everything that you planned goes smooth sailing without any hurdles and trials? To hope that whatever shortcomings you faced will not be as a hard nut to crack on?

I do.
I wonder and wondered till this day.

SHED THE BURDEN

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

by AliahMazli
Today I managed to shed off some old clothes and unworn clothes of mine to be given to charity. I feel light. As if the burden are shed off from my shoulders. I have been wanting to let go all a while a go but I didnt  work hard enough to find my own time amidst the busy everyday life schedule of a housewife.

But I did it. I did shed off some of my clothes. My closet looks neat and tidy.  I feel content. I feel light.

When I look back on what I did today, cleaning my closet, I imagine if I can shed off my burden in this world just as easy as that. Isnt it great? But I know it can never be easy. As known, this world is just temporary. We can never neglect what have been assigned to us in this world. As a servant, as a human, as a daughter, as a wife, as a mother and the list never ends. Our rights, other people's right on us and many more. We have so many things to do.

I am juggling here and there with myself and with the so-called burden that I have. To make it positive and more motivated, I change the "burden" to "challenge". Any challenge somehow can become a burden if the person is not able to finish it. And so do I. I always look at things as burdens and I tend to be negative towards it. It is hard. To change into something that I can take things positively and be patience towards it.

To mend broken pieces that I have before this is truly a hard work and I pray/ed a lot that Allah s.w.t will always help me go through it till the end.

Pray for me!

ORDINARY STORY

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

" Every life has a soundtrack. All you have to do is listen " - Jodi Picoult

Each of us has our own soundtracks. I have mine. So do yours. Each soundtracks represent an episode of our life that happens either well-planned or unexpectedly. Of course, everything is planned beautifully by our Creator. The rest of the stories depends on us on how are we going to nurture and paint them. Are we painting them dully with only black and white color? Or are we going to paint them amazingly with colorful colors that makes you yourself and other people smile just by looking at them.

We have that power on planning our stories. Not to forget, as we plan, HE plans as well :) Be ambitious and at the same time be humble to Allah and work together with HIM. Do as what HE says and inshaAllah good things will come eventually. We can never expect and when the unexpected things occured when you least hoped, that is going to be the best feeling ever. HE knows best after all.

by AliahMazli
Footnote: Things are falling into its place perfectly with obstacles and HIS barakah at the same time. May HE give me the strength to keep on moving with HIS guidance. Allah, only to You I put all my trust and hopes. InshaAllah.
